Finally!

The last few months have been a little rough... Made redundant, looking for work, found work, working like crazy, creating Christmas cards and now FINALLY I have moved my butt and put some new stationery on etsy! I have been stocking my stationery in a local bookstore - MARY RYAN NEW FARM - and it has been going swimmingly! Selling out every month is really keeping me on my toes. I love it. I am also sending cards to my favourite stores in the hope that they may want to stock my stationery too. Fingers crossed!

I am never happy with my photography and since taking the photos, I have changed my mind so have popped up some digital pics of my cards in the meantime. I'm working hard to update my shop and blog and dedicating more time to creating. Yay!

I will launching my new Christmas range in the next week, so stay tuned!

Exciting times. x

My Dad is turning the big 5-0!

I was mortified to hear that my Mum was going to go to the newsagents and buy some crappy invites for my Dad's 50th. When I lost my shit and told her heck no, she said she didn't want to bother me because I'm so busy. Gotta love 'em. So I've been working on my Dad's invites for his 50th birthday bash.

There's a few things you need to know about my Dad. He has a tonne of tattoos, has a bald head, drives trucks transporting bikes all over the eastern side and rides a black and purple Softail Harley Davidson motorcycle. Now you can check out the invites...

Have emailed them to my Mum for approval and to pass on to Dad. Eeeek! Hope they like them!

Bee Love.

I designed this card for our friends who were getting married. They're super cute and it just kind of matched their style... or her style. Meh, whatever. Still love how it turned out. x

It begins...

As you may or may not know, I have been working my butt off to get my stuff ready to be sold in Mary Ryan's bookstore in New Farm. Well the first order has been shipped and is on the racks now! I'll go and take a photo of the rack on Friday, so I can share it with you! In the meantime, enjoy the fruits of my labor. Eww gross... You can thank SJ for the fruits comment... She's hilarious and gross at the same time. My kind of lady.

These cards are printed on 100% recycled stock and come with a sweet little envelope with guidelines in case you have a little trouble in the 'writing straight' department. x

Super Busy!

Ok.. I've been completely slack when it comes to posting and it's not all due to laziness! I've been super busy putting together my cards to show to one of the owners of a certain franchised bookstore. Super super excited! They've checked out the goods and will be placing an order soon. Will share more when it's all said and done. Seems a little surreal, so need to make sure it's not some whack dream that I still haven't woken from...

As part of my collection, I've been hand making my own paper from tonnes of paper waste from work, my Mum's work, my friends work.... and everyone else I can convince to recycled their paper for me! I've had papercuts up to my elbows, discovered that leaving paper sitting in water for a week is a really bad idea and have had the best fun ever. I've been turning my recycled paper into cards and they look lovely!

I've also been getting a bit of freelance design work, which is also amazing. I'm super tired, crazy busy and have been neglecting fun times with the boy all in the hopes I can eventually create beautiful things from home. Wish me luck!

I'm taking photos of my cards and paper treats to apply to be a part of the Brisbane Young Designers Markets, so I will be sure to share them with you too.

Stolen.

So we got broken into. Somebody stole a couple of my beautiful cameras along with a tonne of other stuff. They also trashed the place. 2 levels of townhouse thrown everywhere. Jerks.

Luckily we have insurance and it has only now gone through. Which means I can replace my beautiful Nikon that I miss so much. Which means I can actually take photos of my stuff to show you! I have ordered my new camera and it should be in the shop in the next week or so. Hope it arrives before Christmas... Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, here's a pic of me as a zombie. x

Happy Snaps!

So I'm still working on ah-mazing pics for etsy, but here's some crap ones to keep you up to date. I'm working on a new range of polaroid cards to add to the collection. I have visited a few amazing places here and abroad and have taken a tonne of photos and I thought it was about time I took the plunge and actually printed these bad boys!

I have taken some of my favourite photos and transformed them into the polaroid cards you see below. I also print the place these photos were taken on the back. It's a little bit of holiday or road trip love! Also to let you know these haven't been swiped off the interwebs...

Bundaberg - Queensland

Central Park - New York

Penguin - Tasmania

I also have polaroid cards of deer in Adelaide, sunsets in Newcastle and graffiti in Japan. Stay tuned! Will post items when I have taken some pretty photos.

Crappy photos, I know. You'll be pleased to hear/read that it is on my To Do list to take photos this week! Yiew!

Let me know what you think! x
